Your Role as a Volunteer
The highlight of the day! Wade into the Ma Oya river alongside experienced mahouts to help scrub and bathe the elephants, essential for their skin health and temperature regulation.
A Typical Week
Work directly with elephants 3 days a week. Experience deep cultural immersion on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Physical Demands
Expect long days, tropical heat (30°C+), and messy work with dung and mud.

24/7 Support
Local coordinator on call. Medical facilities available in Kandy (40km).
